Welcome to Nectar and Nurture, mama! I’m so glad you’re here!
I am Amanda, an RN, CLC (certified lactation counselor) and bodyworker trained in the Gillespie Approach— Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT).
CFT uses movement to unwind and release tightness in the fascia. The fascia is a continuous layered web of connective tissue that surrounds and protects all structures of the body and brain. FASCIA is connected through the body from the tongue to the tip of the toes. When the body is moving better the tongue will move better too. This is why CFT is a great therapy for babies who are having feeding difficulties and tongue ties.
My goal using CFT is to help your baby breastfeed better, move better, poop better, and sleep better!
CFT is beneficial for all babies but here are some specific symptoms that CFT can help with: painful latch, latches on and off during feeding, feeding side preference, fast labor or really long labor, clicking sounds while nursing, forceps or vacuum used at birth, c-section, time spent in the NICU, reflux, gas, constipation, spits up after every feed, torticollis, asymmetrical head shape, baby is stiff and prefers to stand, mouth breathing, arching when asleep.
If your baby has a tongue tie, my goal is to be your resource on how to navigate your baby’s tongue tie. There is nothing more overwhelming than being postpartum and having a baby struggling to breastfeed. My goal through my work is to help you see the bigger picture of your baby’s tongue tie, help to address fascia restriction & create openness in the body, work on creating an open posture at the breast & be your resource on creating a collaborative care team to address your baby’s tongue tie to achieve the outcomes you are looking for.

Craniosacral Fascial Therapy
The goal of craniosacral fascial therapy is to gently unwind and release fascial strain because releasing tight fascia allows the cranial bones and sacrum to correct, allowing for optimal mobility and better brain function. Releasing tight fascia facilitates the cerebrospinal fluid to flow optimally, giving the body space to heal, as the body is self-healing and self-regulating.
